The Seeds of Change have arrived...

Community & Business projects are benefiting from an innovative non-profit business venture established with the key purpose of identifying, funding, and implementing sustainable community projects that may not otherwise proceed.  SEEDS is the brainchild of Tara O'Connell and Kathie Heyman.  The SEEDS team have spent many years working in and with community organisations, Tara previously working as CEO of a large not-for-profit company, and Kathie as a community economic development practioner working with business and community. With this experience up their sleeve both women realise that it isn't enough to simply have a good idea. 

"There are so many excellent projects sitting on shelves waiting for the resources to make them happen.  The problem is that most community organisations or community projects have scarce resources, including limited time to develop projects, apply for funding and then manage the project in line with government requirements.  This is where we come in" says Ms O'Connell.  "SEEDS offers a service that identifies inspiring projects, finds funding for implementation, and project-manages through to completion if required.  There is a heavy focus on community consultation including the business community, educational institutions, government and non-government.  Unless a project has broad ownership it will be unlikely to make it off that shelf".
